Nothing in this rule shall be deemed to restrict or limit in any manner the scope of work authorized by law of other contractor classifications.”

What requirements and experience do I need to be a gypsum drywall licensed contractor?

  • 4 years of experience under a Licensed Gypsum Drywall Contractor or Division I Contractor (RC, BC, GC). This can be reduced by up to 3 years with college credits.
  • At least one year out of the four years of experience must have been as a foreman.
  • We want to show experience from this employment period that demonstrates substantial compliance with statutory experience requirements in all of the following areas:
    • Light Steel Framing
    • Gypsum Board
    • Finishing
